AmaZink Live - A HOMEGROWN TOWNSHIP MUSICAL & DINING EXPERIENCE

Experience the exuberance, energy and soulful sounds of South Africa’s greatest songs.

At the entrance to the Boland town of Stellenbosch lies Khayamandi - meaning nice place to live in isiXhosa. Within the myriad of winding streets lined with corrugated iron sheet houses and with one of the best views of the majestic Simonsberg, is the AmaZink theatre and eatery. On offer is the very finest kasi cuisine designed and prepared by Bertus Basson to offer the very best of South African flavours and a music experience honouring legends such as the late Miriam Makeba, Johnny Clegg, Mango Groove and many, many more.

AmaZink Live! tells the story of a township shebeen facing closure, but manages to keep its doors open through the magic of music. Some of the songs included are Pata Pata, The Click Song, Special Star, Skokiaan, Impi and African Dream to name but a few.

AmaZink Live! is a culturally authentic musical. Audience interaction is encouraged and a chorus of entertaining waiters not only serves up the most delicious food, but makes this musical experience complete.

We do have parking available at AmaZink Live and our car guards will gladly show you were to park.

We also offer a shuttle service which must be booked in advance with your ticket. The pick-up points are:

  • NG Moederkerk (Drosdy Street, Stellenbosch) at a cost of R 30 per person return and it leaves for AmaZink Live at 18h30.
  • Lanzerac Hotel & Spa (Reception desk) at a cost of R 35 per person return and it leaves for AmaZink Live at 18h45
  • Franschhoek (pick up point and time arranged with each client) at a cost of R 70 per person return.

SHOW SCHEDULE

AmaZink Live launched in October 2011 and will be running until 31 March 2012. AmaZink Live offers an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors from overseas. Customers will be given the chance to experience township hospitality and proudly South African music like never before.

Shows run every week on the following days:

  • Wednesday evening
  • Friday evening
  • Saturday evening
  • Sunday afternoon
