The latest exciting development is: AmaZink teamed up with The Barnyard Theatre Production Company - expect a vibrant musical twist on this Stellenbosch township dining experience!

Experience the exuberance, energy and soulful sounds of South Africa’s greatest songs.

AmaZink Live tells the story of a township shebeen experiencing tough economical times and facing closure. Its colourful characters - the owner, a cleaner, a lady?! and serving staff must save this much loved and somewhat notorious establishment. An authentic South African township story is told through music. The 11-piece cast perform heart rending songs such as Pata Pata, The Click Song, Meadowlands,
The Lion Sleeps Tonight and Mamma Tembu’s Wedding.

Serving waiters become entertainers and the audience inter-active. The evening hots up with more recent numbers such as the soulful African Dream and Paradise Road, the effervescent Mango Grove hit Special Star and Paul Simon’s Diamonds at the Soles of her Feet and big musical numbers such as Jabulani, Dance Sum More, You Call Me Al and Nkalakatha to name but a few.

THE CAST

The AmaZink Live cast not only has great personality and vibe, but they are all super talented people given the opportunity for the first time to shine!

The AmaZink Live cast features the following artists:

Lead roles:

  • Ramaine Barreiro-Lloyd plays the part of ‘Miss Patricia’. She has been working for the Barnyard Theatre for the past 11 years and brings a wealth of experience, talent and mentorship for the younger members of the cast.
  • Richard Hala is ‘Fix’ and also comes from The Barnyard Theatre and not only helps with vocal training at AmaZink Live and mentorship, but brings his velvet voice!
  • Tebogo Louw plays the role of ‘Musa’ and is one of the upcoming stars of Khayamandi. His
    acting and vocal abilities are simply amazing!

Waiter Actors:

All waiters at AmaZink Live also form an integral part of the AmaZink Live show – they can do almost anything……dancing, waitering, singing and HUGE personality! All our waiter actors come from Khayamandi and have been trained by Ramaine and Richard from The Barnyard Theatre. They are stars in the making! Our Waiter Actor group has the following members:

We are confident that our two managers/barmen can both win a ‘Mr. Personality’ contest – they not only keep the glasses full at AmaZink, but they are extremely helpful, great organizers and always have time for a quick chat. They make sure the ‘show goes on’! They are:

  • Ralph Mncube aka ‘Gift’ , the dancing barman and go-to-guy for advise, help and loads of wisdom.
  • Bam Mhlangabeli aka ‘Shorty’, the fastest mover and helper - you always find him on stage at the end of the AmaZink Live show.
